 was looking through some books and saw a similar idea so when this challenge came up, it immidiately came to mind.

Setup:
1X girl
1X desk lamp
1X eyeliner for the moustache
and a whole lot of patience...

Post processing:

crop
adjusted the levels
bit of unsharp mask

The result, don't think it will be a top ten but i thought the idea was pretty original

This got a 7 from me during the challenge. Love the "old world" feel that you've established. The focus could be a tad sharper, but otherwise great job!

mmm... the overall finish is quite dissapointing and it definitely could hacve placed better! But still... the idea remains one of the most original of this challenge!

Lots of good elements in the contrast here. I had to keep looking at it and finally come back to make a comment.
Technically, I wish his/her face was better focused. But the attention to detail is excellent.
I see: one man hand and one very female woman hand, a manly face, breasts, and eye shadow and liner on manly eyes.
Good take on the challenge.

this looks a bit soft and I find the hot spot on the shoulder distracting and pulling my eye away from the face
