This was at my niece's second birthday party. There were a whole bunch of kids over, and they were just having such a fun time playing with the balloons. I have always found it tricky to capture anything spontaneous and still make it feel like the way it did in real life. Everytime I look at this picture, I just feel like playing with those balloons. Well, another year, another birthday party, more food.

This one would have been exceptional if you, for example, told the kid in green shirt with a gree baloon to stand facing you and stand still for a second. That way, you would have gotten something - motion and enjoyment in the background, and crisp (at least somewhat) standing kid not participating. Just an idea and an attempt to offer constuctive criticism and a reason why I scored this with 3.

I think I understand what you are trying to do here. But it doesn't work for me. It seems like the camera was moved during the exposure. For this to really give the impression of movement I would expect that the static things (walls, floors, picture frames, etc.) to be sharp and in focus.

I think you'll get very mixed reactions to this photo, but I love it!!!
Amongst this confusing riot of color and movement is a central little figure.... the anchor for my eyes. Without that little boy in focus, this wouldn't have worked - HE makes the shot. 8

This is let down by the white on the left. Try cloning it a dark colour, or clone the decorations that are hanging. I assume that the person in orange is the focal point. THey draw the eye at least.

Very good capture. This photo has a great feeling of energy, with great colors and light. I think this photo will score lower than it deserves. I hope I'm wrong.

I like how the one little girl is in focus in the foreground.
