Sometimes having free access to shoot construction sites has its advantages. I had fun doing an entire series of these.

The idea behind this was viewing adulthood through a child's eyes using inanimate objects. If I were to use human models, it would be a boy in a fireman's hat flexing his muscles while sitting in the lap of his firefighter father.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

Technical : I like your use of DoF to force my attention. Looks like some of the voters thought it was "too much", but I think if you had done it any different it would change the importance of the objects.

Your focus is a little soft, if you didn't use Unsharp Mask filter, I recommend it, it will add just a touch of crispness to the photo that people like. Besides that, everything else looks good technically.

Artistic : I think you did excellent artisticlly. It's a unique idea, and well executed. About the only thing I can think of that would have improved this would be a more 'sideways' view of the toy. I think it would have more impact being able to see more of it's profile. Right now I just wish I could see more of it! =)

Challenge : You bullseyed this challenge. Well done!

Conclusion : You finished in the top 21%, not an easy feat, (I'll just ignore those two 95% finishes...) I don't think it will be long before we see you on the main page with a ribbon next to your name. Keep up the good work!

Not a strong tie to adulthood. With the focus on the toy truck it seems almost more a story about childhood and play.

Cute idea, not sure you nailed it but I like the wry humour. Maybe some work on ODF would have helped.
