This is a horse from the neighborhood having lunch before it has to work again, riding children etc. Unfortunately I didn't have - yet again - enough time to look for better pictures.

I used my teleconverter lens on my A40. The levels were slightly changed and I had to sharpen the image a little but that's because the A40 makes quite soft pictures.

Nice shot for Country Life. The horse looks so relaxed (though I seldom see horses looking any other way), and I think the simplicity of the shot works very well.

I like the vertical crop on this, as I think the green "negative space" at the top does an effective job of directing attention to the horse. It might be a bit tight on the left and right, but it is balanced and doesn't leave the viewer feeling like something was left out.

The colors are very nice. I like the contrast with the coloring of the horse, and the green grass. The focus is a bit soft, can you adjust it in camera? If not, perhaps a slightly larger aperture value or slower shutter speed would help (provided the horse doesn't move!)

Best to you in future challenges, and if you have questions or comments, please feel free to PM me.

Oh this is just Cute. I would prefer greener grass but that is beyond your control. I do like this shot but I think an angle closer to the ground would really steal the show. Wonderful subject. Gotta have a hoarse.

Doesa dat horse haf boots? I don't think you're allowed to post images with that particular item on here, but I guess that rule only applies to humans. :) Hmm. It looks rather like mine.

Your composition might be better if you had the ground leading up to the horse (instead of having the horse in the foreground).

the thick boarder is distracting.

I think this might have been more effective horizontally w/ room for the pony to travel across the frame.
