This is Maya, a very pretty and vivacious daughter of a co-teacher.

We have fun doing this picture. It's all that matters. I am not expecting this to score high nor to figure in the top ten but I am sub, itting it anyway because I spent time taking and post-processing this. Besides, it was one of the most enjoyable photoshoot I had.

Thanks to Sally for helping me set-up this shot.

I am aiming for a 6 average here. Looks like a "make-believe" as well.

(I took this shot with my brother's D100. Still have to find a replacement for my D70.)

Good, the tight crop to the right doesn't bother me, even with the cut off leg, that is not a problem. If it hadn't been for the stool with the shoes it wouldn't have worked. The stairs or whatever it is in the background left brings in the balance. But I don't really like the irregularities in the background, especially immediately behind the girl's head. Also the prominent dark part of the stool leg on the left of the girl's calf muscle I would have taken out.

Wow...surprise. I never thought this will be in the top 10. I owe it all to Maya, her mom, and Sally for setting this up for me.

She's in my top ten circle. The first time I had her, I won a yellow. Here's the pic.

Thanks Maya.

This was my favorite of the whole challenge. I loved her expression and the actually unstaged feel. Made me want to laugh with her.

This photo has a nice feel to it. The expression is priceless. I think a square crop would work as it looks a little cramped. 8

I really like the joy caught in this photo. Technically I think it is flawed by cutting off the girls leg but it is still a nice photo. I have two young girls myself and I know how fun it is to see them dress up and put on their mom's shoes. Great photo that has captured something that stirred up great memories for me. Thanks. "10"

nice composition, great lighting effect, like the color choices. i really like the barbie in the shoebox. i do have to say that there is one thing that bothers me about this photo: to write this comment i am given a view up that small child's skirt, and that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable as a viewer. i realize that this is not the intent of the photo, but i wanted to bring it to your attention.
