 Living in the country to me means being able to have horses and a relaxed life style. I took several photos of different scenes depicting relaxation...in the swing, looking out over the fields, pretty flowers, and the horses grazing. They all seemed boring. I decided on an action shot, instead.

For the curious, the horse in the background is wearing a fly mask. It's made of a mesh type material that is loosely woven so the horse can still see through it. It keeps the flys out of their eyes.

Good action. I would prefer a more shallow depth of field so that the running horse is in sharper focus while the barn and horse in the background are less clear. It looks like you shot this at a high ISO as the hooves/legs are frozen even while the tilt of the horse implies motion.

Good subject and a good angle for showing musclature on the move.

The contrast near the horse's tail is nice, but his head gets lost in the composition. If the other horse weren't there it would be so much better.

coulda used that one for "speed".i like this. maybe a little tighly cropped near the feet.
