absolutely stunning; great white and cream and rust and silver; love the combinations and clarity of exposure; maybe the shot is just a bit busy? but still; great work. |

Awesome, Steve. This is wonderful. I saw someone out on a hill near 5600 W. and 2100 S. shooting into the industrial section during the challenge week. I was hoping for a top shot from a local. You came through with flying colors. |

Nice finish Steve. I love your POV with this shot and the beautiful contrast in colors. The Cat tails really give it some punch...
WELL DONE! |

A wild guess, but could this be close to Butte, Montana, in the USA? Beautiful sky. |

Nice.
I feel both cold and warm from the snow and steam.
I like the way the stand pipe and steam pillar compliment each other. |

Nice composition, although personally I would have cropped the unsharp area of the foreground out. Great light and great setting, I like how out of place the factory looks against the great landscape. Good work! |

Looks cold. The steam gives the active work feel. If you moved to the right could you eliminate the power poles on the mtn? |

How amazing it is that the sight of mountains covered in snow can make even the most ugly subjects come alive! Great shot; good light; well composed. Perhaps the foreground could take a bit more cropping, but nonetheless in my top six. |

Very effective presentation and composition. I like how the composition is closely cropped to show the viewer a vertical presentation of the scene. In this way the shape mimics the tall column and the plume of "smoke" that is rising in the air. Also, I don't know if this was planned for the shot or a lucky stroke, but those copper hued plants in the forground also have a vertical presentation in there natural shape. The colors of those plants adds a burst of bright and vibrant color to a scene that otherwise would make us think "cold". We see the image and with the whiteness of the snow and sky we are instantly made to feel the cold but that burst of color from the plants adds a bit of unexpected warmth to the scene. Nicely captured. |

I like the feel of this photo. The smoke stack and then the smoke next to it make a nice pair = blalanced form. |

8 - Very nice, good use of color. Criticism; difficult as, as much as I like the fore 'grass' texture and color effect, just think if it were 'competing' less (especially for this Challenge) would make this even better in my opinion. Also difficult to tell, but seems the sharpest focus is on the mountain rather than the 'factory' (apologies if wrong there), so a shift in focus might have also made this better. An overall 'contrasting' type of feel to this shot, given the 'environment'. |

Really like this shot. Good color contrast in front compared to the starker background. Maybe a little brighter would be good? |

I like the way we can see the industrial plant surrounded by a natural environment. The muted colours of everything but the foreground trees works well. With the steam and the chimney mirroring each other it feels a little to centred horizontally for my preferences. |

Wow what a contrast. This is wonderful. It would be a great photo even without the flowers in the foreground, but with them it is spectacular. How does anything grow in that cold! |
