 I was trying to emulate the 1960 version of the movie with my knife, fork, spoon shot. I wanted to make it high contrast and attempted to make it seem like the spoon and fork were in mortal danger. I used a black foam board for the backdrop. The knife was suspended by fishing twine and held in place by my wife. I placed the SB-800 in remote mode and put it on the tripod in a position that would yeild the shadow that I finally was able to get.

10-year old kids have access to TV too and the parents decide if they're too young to watch "Psycho". Personally, I love the idea and think you have a very creative entry. Congratulations! I love the work with the shadows, and the cowering position you have the spoon and fork taking.

Really, take some of the "odd" comments as outliers. Some folks just troll around with their heightened sense of morality.....eh?

I just knew when I saw the word knife, someone would have to jump into the world of violence. With 10 year old children being members on this site, I think a more mature and socially accepted image could have been entered. Perhaps concentrate on the quality of the photo, lighting sharper focus improved backgrounds etc.
