Cool it took me a minute to tell it was a fork. Nice image!

You portray quite an impressive use of light and shadow in this photograph. To me the large black area feels very oppressing, as if it were the force which makes the model silent - while at the same time being completely abstract, remote, empty. It is but negative space, but the positioning of the face suggests that this emptyness, the silence is actually pushing the model out of the frame.

Your use of "just off" blacks and whites plays well with this one but ultimately this picture is about light and shadow for me. The speck of light in the eye, the shadow to fill in... wonderful.

(side note: what's a character filter?)

I would have liked to see more, too much negative space in my opinion, decent picture though.

Very dark, some might say overly so, but I think it adds to what you may have been going for. Sort of wish the glints of light on the fork mid right were not there but you have editing constraints to deal with so OK. Very intersting, mysterious and well done.

Very creative, and superb use of negative space. It's amazing how that one tiny reflection in the eye just makes the whole image come together. 10

Wow, that is so dark, looks like chocolate mud (that's supposed to be a compliment). Very original. I like it.

Great use of lighting & negative space. The darkness really goes well with the "evil" too - great job!

A lovely push into the graphical realm to produce a highly dramatic effect.
