A Lesson Learned

This was supposed to be the image that I should have submitted. The problem is when I started naming the entries 01,001,0001, etc. It got confusing. So in the end, a great lesson learned. However, it was still a great challenge because of the support and cheers I've received from everyone in the forums. It was fun and receiving 54 comments during the challenge is just mind boggling.

I am humbled by my peers here on DPC.

See the background in this version really kills it for me.

Hey kel. No harm taken :) Yeah that's what I was thinking as well. I should have used my 50mm for this portrait instead of using my f4L. I'll be reshooting this image again with the help of Linzy and I'll be posting it once again :) This newer version will have minimal NI. I promise :)

Rikki-

I'm not trying to be mean, but I think Librodos secret is to start with a super highly focused photo, then he does subtle neat imaging. Your version is to heavy handed on the neat image, plus on this one you even ran it into her hair. Also from what I can remember, Librodo shoots against some sort of colored wall (usually a rich vibrant color). Not saying you are trying to copy or mimick him here, but the blurring or neat image is what is killing these pics for me. I use NI myself but in this case (and the one of your entry) is just too much.

Don't be mad at me...k?

persionally, i think i like the other crop better (minus the neat image, of course) the colors in the background don't seem to fit with the feeling i get from the colors in the cloth. the over exposure in the bottom right is a bit distracting too...

still, it's a lovely shot... glad you, and everyone else paying attention, learned a lesson, cause learning is what it's all about...
