 - cropped a bit off top and bottom of original

- increased contrast

- created duplicate layer, converted to b/w using channels (heavy on red), ran through noise remover, blended with original to lighten skin tones

- desaturated slightly to make colours less intense

- worked with curves and level to get colours/contrast just so

- cloned out skin imperfections, and lightened are in left eye to simulate a catchlight

- resized, sharpened, ran through noise remover, sharpened eyes some more

- lightened area around candle a bit using dodge tool

- worked a bit more to smoothen out skin imperfections

Great capture, I like the shallow DOF, but it may be too shallow -- I wish her whole face was in focus..

The face east can be lit a little too much by this candle, as well as the hands. But very good idea. Clearness is good but in the eyes one sees sources of light. The composition is good.

Nice composition, but you can tell there was an extra light source. The lighting is all wrong for this challenge IMHO.

Nice lighting. I like the expression on her face. The left side of the face is just a bit soft.

This is very well done. The shadow on the chin is just a little distracting, as it doesn't look as if it comes naturally from the candle. Otherwise, this is perfect.
