The tight crop here works very well for this shot. Crisp focus, pretty good color. There's a burned spot on the knuckle of his index finger that could use a wee bit of work. And now having read the other comments, I'll add that the background doesn't bother me - I think you've handled it well. |

I like the sharpness and detail you captured here. The background is kind of distracting and so is the shadow on his sleeve, but the rest of the shot more than makes up for it. |

Barry, I like this shot. I wish it was just a bit clearer that he is playing a harmonica. What appeals to me most is his attire and his glasses just seem to have character. The muted colors work well and give this a rather timeless look. I think it might work a bit better to desaturate the background a bit to focus more on your subject.
It appears as a candid, not posed, which is something else I like about it. Looks like you had a bit of harsh sun to contend with, but all in all I think this is an excellent character shot. |

I think your bokeh is a little distracting. Lots of shapes, but nothing that I can quite piece together (without the description). Might be because of your tight crop. It makes me feel a little claustrophobic. I don't feel like I know this guy well enough to see the yellow on his knuckle. But I definitely like the action capture. He is deeply involved in his playing and you captured that. |
