Ant crawling down the tree in the backyard. Photo taken in macro mode. Ant was running fast, that's why his head is out of the photograph!

Wonderful textures and lighting here. Too bad the bug's head is chopped off. Nice intimate nature shot.

I think putting the bug in a more central spot would be a stronger composition.

Good attempt at a macro shot. Your subject is cropped too much in the lower left and I don't think that the negative space of the bark enhances your composition.

Macro would have been better with little better focus and including the whole ant in the image rather than cropping.

Nice tones on the bark. I like the way the ant is just crawling into view.

Nice shot... more DOF would be good (but I know from my camera I can't get that kind of control)... I think a 180° rotation so the bug was walking out the top of the photo would look slightly better. Good luck with it.

Looks like most of an ant. Definitely would've been much more effective if you showed the whole thing. This would be almost effective if he were going up instead of down.

Nice attempt, but the cut off head just doesn't work for me, which is a pity as there's a lot to like in this photo otherwise

Nice texture and I like the negative space idea. The bark on the lower right is a little overexposed, but I'm not sure there's anything you can do about that. I think I'd like to see the whole bug rather than the bottom cut off.

Why the odd crop here...part of the bug is cut off..?

Good focus and lighting. I personally think there needs to be more of the bug in the picture, but that is just me.

The bug is very unclear.

great shot... would be near the top if that ant was just a few notches further up into the bottom left corner.

nice but would be about 3 points better if the bug was all there
