Hi. It just doesn't look like torture - and the shot doesn't have any depth to it, it's very bright and lackluster. When I think torture, or fear of torture, I think something a bit more dark, both emotionally dark and actually, yeah, dark. Like, tones and shadows and depth. Sorry, 4.

Yes! Really makes you pull your hand away. I would have shown the scalpel abit more. By the way, is the tiny finger the result of a previous shoot?

I'd love to see this in black and white!

Looks like a very rational fear to me. Maybe needs some blood, but perhaps that's asking for too much!

This would have been much better in B&W with a single light.

I think this would be a little bit more compelling with darker lighting and if the blade was held following the crease of the victim's hand. Like it, though.

The message-bearing portion of this image occupies relatively little area in this image. I think that your composition would get more bang for it's buck if you made the presentation more minimalistic (showing 13 fingers seems excessive). Since the message is less than happy using a darker background would have helped to create the appropriate atmosphere. Showing simply one finger with the blade poised to ram under the fingernail would have been a more concise way to convey the same idea.
