a slighltly more active or appealing background would help to make the pod pop out alittle more

like the title + on this one (poetry) - the background contast (light and dark blob) detracts from the composition a bit imho

5 - Nice. Criticism; like to see the same sharpness that is on the stem 'behind' the pod, used on the pod. Seems a little 'blown' on the pod, but again, with sharper focus may have eliminated that and gained more texture detail. Nice and simple, including colors, the DOF is good. Not sure on the frame, 'works', but not sure it enhances the subject(s) as much as perhaps another color may have, who knows. Perhaps a tighter cropping at the top to eliminate the 'join' too, but minor.
