Snapped this down in the aquaduct near my house. I wasn't able to get a better angle by actually going down into the wash because there were some taggers down there, and since I had my camera and all, I dunno if they would've been too happy to see me. Cropped, rotated, and tweaked levels, contrast, and saturation in PS6.

I really like this photo but it just doesn't convey fear to me.. so it lost a couple points.

I like this shot and the mood. I hope it fairs well.

Reminds me of a spot around here, nice photograph. Whether intentional or not I like the way how the viewer cant see the hole directly, gives is a sense its lurking, luring you in.

this is a great picture, i like the depth/distance in it

Nice idea. I would have shot from a lower point and closer to the hole. I can see a tiny human figure standing just outside the darkness, facing it, paralysed...

Merry Christmas

In this case the subject, the tunnel, is obscured by the left wall, and there is too much of the foreground, especially the graffitti, as a distraction. A shot taken much closer would have been far more effective.

A very common urban sight. Very messy foreground that doesn't lead eyes to the "black hole".. The truncated hole also diminished the effect you are trying to illustrate.
