I couldn't find anything too spectacular for this challenge. I ended up going to the local carnival (on Sunday, since that was the night of the big fireworks show) to try and find something. I had hoped to capture both the fireworks and some sort of carnival ride together for my submission. I did get some shots like that, but they didn't come out as well as I had hoped, so I submitted a shot of just a ride. (The shots I took of the fireworks themselves turned out pretty well though!)

We always called this ride the "Witch's Wheel", but here it was called "Enterprise" (hence my choice of title). I purposefully used a shot that included the ride name totally illuminated. Quite a few of my other shots only had a few letters lit up. Hopefully a few people will understand my thinking behind the title.

My guess is that some people will find the "sledgehammer game" pole distracting. (I did move to more to the left when the fireworks started so it wouldn't be in front of the spinning ride.)

Great shutter speed, colors, and composition. I love the little lit up flowers in the foreground!

Great colors & quality. Too bad about that persons head down there. But what can ya do when there is a bunch of people eh? =) I don't have really anything to critize about this picture, except maybe I would have liked to have seen the still lights not overlapping the ride. But still good pic! =)

nice - did you use a tripod or a convenient barrier? I wouldn't dare take a tripod to my local fair for fear of it getting stolen! - 8

Meets the challenge perfectly. Excellent exposure. Like the small, simple border as well. 7 =-)

great shot. this one might be better actually filling the frame. I just have to take off 1 for matching a border colour to the subject
