You'd think Joey would've stressed the date stamp to you, afterall, he got two DQ's in a row for it, haha! Naughty you for pasting Alfred Hitchcock in there, his well-known profile is probably before your time. ;-)
You'll get your ribbon soon enough!

Yes it was a shame guys, but a common mistake for a newbie I guess. Finally made sure my date and time was set properly today for future challenges.
There is proof though that this was taken on the date specified. I'm prety sure Joey has an image of me taking this in real time, and I'm sure his settings are always correct. Nonetheless, like kiwiness pointed out, I understand now that even if the date was correct, it would have been dq'ed because of the man.
Sorry guys, but I have no idea why you are all mentioning Alfred Hitchcock. This is just some random overweight man added from another shot of mine lol... I will have to look Alfred up on google ;-P
If I ever make a large print of this I will be sure to bring back some texture in the clouds and move the man a bit to the left so the 3 elements (smoke stacks and man) are equidistant from each other and the edge of frame - for more symmetry.
Thanks to all for your generous comments and rates. |

Cool photo, shame about the date thing. But if it hadn't been for the date you probably would have been DQ'ed for adding the man in with Photoshop like you mentioned here on Photonet,

Pity for the DQ, but, anyway, this is a very nice photo.
Is the guy there Alfred Hitchcock? :-) |

I think if you crop it so that the middle chimney and the figure are equidistant from the vertical edges it looks better. but everything else looks great |

Oversmoothed, this shot has lost some of its impact through an obsession with the processing. It looks like everything is in place though; poignancy, scale, context, composition, but my eyes crave the missing texture.
A empathise totally with the point you make here, so top marks for the social comment. |

Highly dramatic with limited tones but making each shade count to bring about a great b/w study. |

Personally, I'd have liked to see just a bit more contrast in the image, but, nevertheless, it's absolutely superb. The aforementioned "more contrast" would have made it a "10"; nonetheless, it's earned its "9." (By the way, who is that: Hitchcock? Lol. [Sorry if it's you; not making fun ΓΆ€” :-D].) |

I really liked this, the massive smoke plumes, the black and white, the perspective, the scale that dwarfs the human figure. The only thing I would wish for is more focus and definition in the smome itself |

Nice composition, the lone figure adds the "life" in this. Colour might have been nice too. 9 |

Nice image. Giving it a 9. Not sure how well it says city life. I think it does but not sure about my fellow DPCers.
Good Luck
