Greetings from the Critique Club!
(No I'm NOT kidding.)
-----
First of all, in case anyone reads this posthumously and doesn't think it's post humorous, I AM the male model in this shot and that's my gf. :)
-----
Ok, let me take a stab at this.
The colors are awesome. I was struck by this the moment we saw this fountain and I wanted my picture taken in front of this. The background is a great silhouette.
Problems:
1) My hair is sticking up - very noticable in a silhouette. Should've taken the time to wet it and pat it down with the fountain water.
2) The silhouette doesn't feel dark enough. I know you played with this based on the outtakes you sent me later, but I think the darker, artzier ones looked better. The less detail I could see, the more I liked the shot.
3) Our pose doesn't look "romantic" enough for Bob. Well, I would have rather had her in my lap too. :)
Overall, I said it before and I'll say it again. This is THE single best shot of us that exists. It is one of the few "art" shots of us that exists. I am UNBELIEVABLY happy with this shot - you did amazingly well with it.
Thanks again!

Ooops... didn't realise the models would be reading this!
I think it could have looked better if you two were holding hands or a little closer, it's the way that your torsos are turned away from each other a little that spoils it for me.
Anyway, my best to the both of you! |

Very nice! Nice contrast and composition. Excellent symbolism (sp?) with the fountain. |

Nice idea, unfortunately I don't think they look very romantic. Not one of the more passionate kisses I've ever seen... The water in the background works well, but I think the building detracts from the composition. I don't like the yellow colour cast, I'd have amended this in Photoshop. Almost! 6 |

This idea works really well, with the dramatic lighting behind the couple who are almost silhouetted against it but just contain a little detail for added interest. Very good! |

good capture, although I find the windows slightly distracting. |

Nice idea, but perhaps could've done with being more in focus and fitting in more of the fountain, both horizontally and vertically. Silhouette works like a dream here. I think this is definately more of an emotion than a photographical masterpiece - that's a complement btw! 7. |

This is a cool silhouette shot and captures the theme of the challenge nicely. The two lights behind the fountain are a little distracting though and, although your subjects are centered, the fountain is not. I think in this case, centered would look better. |

Great job getting the nice yellow color in the water. Border is too much tho. Maybe should have used a thinner yellow line (about 1/3 the thickness)? |

Nice moody shot. maybe the figures could have been a bit more in silhouette. |

Nice place to take a photo but the background distract me. I would let the people stand up not sitting down. Is this self portrait? |

Wow, such wonderful models! Such beautiful lighting. Such romance, such love....anyways, beautiful gorgeous picture. I want this framed, on my desk. It's absolutely the best pic of us together that exists. Thank you for TAKING it. - 15. |
