I shot this little feller when I was trying to get better focus results with my Sigma 70-200. He is a very small part of the original image, and shot hand held with an ISO of 800. I removed the UV filter as per Luminous Landscape recommendations, as well as the small, pea sized piece of post-it note I had discovered stuck to the lens. The Luminous Landscape site gave this as an example to prove that a scratch in the middle the lens makes little or no difference in the picture quality. Much better then with it, and it wasn't a real cheap one either. Enjoy.

Great close-up of this little critter. You can even see a little nick in his ear! Great angle too.

would have been a great picture if it was in focus

Could be a little sharper. More than likely taken with a high zoom. Suggestion is to increase the ISO speed of the camera. If possible then use a tripod and drop the shutter speed but if hand held you will need to raise the shutter speed to 1/(effective focal length). Whatever shutter speed you need to increas e the f stop to give greater depth of field on this one, as ever its a trade off.
