 This was the view from my window one Saturday evening. The street below was unusually bright, and the light just bounced off the pastel coloured walls of residential buildings in my area in Central Hong Kong. It was a busy night, as people were mostly at street level, partying in bars as though SARS had long been forgotten.

Hi folks, thanks for the "generous" comments. Would you believe that this picture was taken from the 10th floor of my building? I live in what I call, the pin-cushion district of HK (the buildings look like a dense patch of needles in a pin cushion when viewed from Victoria Peak). From my window, I would have to angle my camera way down for you to see the bars. For those of you who know Hong Kong, the kilometer-long escalator (going from the left side of the picture) is situated between the peach-colored middle tower and the pink walled low-rise building.

Great shot. I live in Florida USA but was there back in September of last year. My girlfriend lives there and I went to visit her then. She will be moving here to US in June of next year and I can't wait. Anyway it was nice to see a photo of the city. As soon as I saw it I knew it was HK even before I read the description hehehe. I know this is your home and you see photos of it all the time but if you are interested in seeing through another set of eyes please look at these from last year when I was there. //www.pbase.com/tomh1000/hong_kong Best of luck to you and your family.

My first reaction to this photo, is WOW, great color.

After I ponder a bit, I think, these are only apartments. There is nothing going on here. There is no “out on the town” here at all. Then I think to myselfâ€Â¦Ă˘€Â¦ Myself, these apartments are empty because the people are all "out on the town".
