Very interesting idea. I think the thought for this challenge was prefect. The shadow was a prefect example of backlighting. Personally I would play with the shot a little. Like lower your angle to see a little more of the bear from the front on as opposed to the top view. Also I think the focus could have been sharper, even though it is a dreamy bear. If you wanted to go more with the soft focus, maybe add some more fluff possibly around the bear and still add a little more focus. Maybe even try to focus on something like the nose so if everything else is soft there is still a focal point.

Whit more detail all the little fuzzes on the bear, the shadows could have been even more striking. I think the best part of this piece is how huge the shadow of something as small and innocent as a teddy bear is. This idea has tons of potential in my opinion, with a little more of an angle and focus.

Good work, those first challenges are some of the hardest. Especially putting yourself out there, so you should be proud.

Nice edge fringe fits the challenge, especially on the shadow. Wish for less straight-on composition and more sharpness/DOF.

While it's definitely lit from the back, the shadow "overshadows" the subject considerably.

I like how the shadowy reflection makes the teddy bear seem monstrous.
