Sweet photo. Lovely fun emotion but to me a little over exposed on the right. |

Grand Love-of-Life Portrait! I can't think of any type of photograph more filled with the heart of God than a child frozen in a laugh! So amazing! Such a blessing!
Emotionally, this photo calls out...10! Yet to be consistent with the principles of good photography, I can't actually grade it that way. The face is lit by what appears to be a reflector placed much lower than the face. This gives the portrait a mild effect of 1950's Saturday afternoon matinee B Movie a la Bela Lugosi, yet over-all the facial features are a little flat. Composite score 7 with a little man who is over-the-top! |

A sweet face and lovely smile. The focus is not quite sharp and the bright burnt-out highlights on his hand and hair distract. The basket (chair?) is so brightly lit it draws the eyes away too. The composition would work better with a milder flash. |

Great smile, good back/front-lighting balance and nice portrait overall. Looks front-focussed, focus locked on eyes would be better. |

looks like you used a fill flash to keep from losing detail in the foreground/shadow areas. good idea. The light, though it is behind the subject, is coming pretty strongly from camera right - for this challenge, I think that having the backlighting more directly behind your subject would have been more appropriate. |
