 A freakin nightmare to light properly!

This is probably going to bomb, but I don't care. Still sticking with my 2006 mantra: if I like it, I submit. I like this one.

Shot something very similar this summer, but that one was a silhouette. You can see it here.

For those who commented that the shot was a silhouette, I strongly advise that you look into re-calibrating your monitors.

Great angle and nice dof here. The background is clean and simple, and the black and white tones work well. Perhaps a bit too much light/dark contrast between the boots and cabinet in the background... a little more light from the front perhaps? Nicely done!

This one is beautiful. There is a story here and emotion in the image and its title. It looks just a touch over-sharpened to me. But all in all a wonderful image.

Nice use of deapth of field. I think this really narrow dof is sometimes over used but not here. It really adds to the effect.

Oooh I dooooo like this! Love the quirky composition - love that the boots almost have a life of their own but at the same time are really just a representation of their owner and the also the life they lived. I love the floorboard reflections and also that little glimpse into the rest of the home, yet not enough detail to detract from the boots.

This i s a pretty interesting subject. i love the reflection in the floor but the white of the cabinates and the black of the boots is making it hard to focus on the detail of the subject, its causing more of a silouhet, its sapposed to, but the challeng description is dont let it the subject be a full silouhet.

I like it as a photo technically speaking, but I am not sure it's truly consistent with the backlighting theme
