I think you should try this photo early in the morning because a better (soft) light all over the body, not only in one sholder... I like the idea and I like it is done in B/W |

I'm not sure I understand the title but I do like the photo:
The subject in the foreground is off-center; thus giving me more context (the water and the skyline in the background) in which to interpret the foreground subject. I'm intrigued by the posturing of the model; hands on hips and one leg thrust forward. I interpret this pose to be less contemplative and more evaluative. In my own life I strike similar poses when I'm unsure of something and I'm evaluating or trying to determine womething. I like the ripples that are expanding outward from the subject as they are at the bottom of the photograph and inobtrusive; thus lending promenience to the subject without overwhelming the viewer.
The perspective of the viewer seems to say a lot but I don't know exactly what it says. I have some feeling about the size of the subject in relation to the size of the skyline in the background. My best guess is that this comparison is what engendered the title for this work.
The lighting is decent for a panoramic shot. I don't like the lighting as much for a portraiture as the definition and tones of the subject's back are blurred and without definition. The bright sunlight on the subject's right shoulder implies that if this shot has occurred 20 minutes before or after (depending on locale and orientation) the back of the subject would be in more detail. The lighting also casts the back of the subject's head to lose any definition other than its outline.

well.. the distant shoreline is interesting from the perspective of someone standing in ankle deep water, but the nudity doesn't really seem to add anything to the shot. |

Thanks goodness for a change in the subjects sex, I was afraid somewhere there must have been a clause "no men" Now to the photo, this is nicely done the perspective is great and the focus is done well. On my monitor it is a tad grainy but not too bad. The positioning of the subjects was also done well. The only improvement I can see is the sun overexposing the subjects upper right arm. 9. |

I like this a lot content wise and composition wise.
I particularly love the inclusion of the skyline.
I love the ripple pattern near the model's feet and the way they direct the eye to the horizon and light lines of waves or water near that.
The horizon feels a little tilted to me - could perhaps do with a touch of rotation.
The model is neither a silhouette nor well enough lit not to be a silhouette, sort of stuck somewhere in between. Therefore my main preference would be to have some fillin light directed towards his body. Not too much, so one still gets the impression of him standing to face the sun, but just a touch to show more detail.

lighting seems a little flat. increasing the contrast would help. I like the little sunflares on the water. interesting composition. |

Love your title. Very original. Nice composition. Might be a bit stronger removing a bit from the left. A sepia tone could have added some warmth in the photo and could have brought back the idea of sand. 6 |

lol. this image is strikingly humorous and emotive at the same time. I could see it on the wall at an inner city nudist colony or something! Nice work. |
