Challenge: Signs (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6
Location: Virginia
Date: Jan 13, 2006
Aperture: 5.0
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/10
Galleries: Humorous
Date Uploaded: Jan 17, 2006

I originally shot this with my Casio Exfilm and one light, but a friend (Spaceman Spiff) liked it so much he let me re-shoot this using his 20D, and some additional lighting. It's a better photo for it.

Edits: Sharpen, lighten, slight crop.

The backdrop and inspiration for the photo is a "Crate" I made out of basswood for a college conceptual art class last semester. I tweaked it a bit for the photo, then added the mannequin, what is obviously a shadow puppet, and a flashlight inside the box for a glow. I lit the right highlights with a lamp and used a second flashlight for the shadows.

Very shadow-hand-puppet Jurassic Park-ish.

Nice fit to the challenge, well thought out and executed. Really like the lighting and the feather in the hole adds just the right touch. Good luck

While I'm not one of Woodie's biggest fans, this is well thought out and technically very well done. I will break with tradition and give this a 9. I have to say that I find the though of Woody being torn to splinters by an ancient raptor very agreeable.

Fun shot! I think it would have worked better without the doll in the foreground though. Nice b&w.

Cute idea. More in-focus woody and less-central hard edge line would be better.
