Sitting by this pond early on a sunday morning with my stomach growling because I had only a cup of coffee before leaving the house. Watching these geese, I thought of the disadvantage I was at at the moment. My stomach's growling cause I'm hungry and cann't go anywhere to eat. While the geese on the other hand, are at home at whatever little body of water they're on, and there's plenty to eat. All they have to do is dunk their head under the water and, Brunch is served !

too dark to see much detail

I think a tighter crop and some work on levels would have made this pic more interesting.

Good luck in the challenge!

Too dark to make out very much at all of what's going on. I see the ducks, but they don't stand out at all. The scenery, too, is just like a black back-drop. A larger image might have been easier to judge.

I like the ducks and the one upside down is great, however due to the photo being so dark I am unable to accurately judge the details, the feather definition, etc. The 2 ducks in the back, it is hard to tell where their heads end and the background starts.

aww just wish it werent so small.. perhaps lightened up a bit more to make the geese stand out? (thats just me.. nice moment though)

very dark

A bit dark - hard to see the critters very well.

I really don't think that you have maximised the potential of this shot. You should aim for 640 for one side. But also look at the cropping, this is a nice picture but it doesn't seem about the birds too much.

A little on the dark side. Maybe crop a little from the top.

This is a nice picture, I'm just afraid that this will be voted down because of the size, you should use the 640 pixels that we are allowed to use in challenges.

3 - Looks like there is good potential in this scene. Criticism; 640 (in this case width), sharper, a variation in composition, the colors/lightness tweaked (this seems very dark) all have likely madre this better in my opinion. Looks a little 'snapshottish', even though it is/was obviously an 'opportune' capture - but it is difficult to see/discern the main 'subject' (not just because there's only half of 'it' above water either).
