I gave this a 7 just because I thought it was a really nice shot of the Capitol, and just gave you the benefit of the doubt that I was missing something when it came to the transparency part. I'm surprised at the number of people here that actually thought it WAS the White House... was this a mistake in naming on your part, or was it part of your commentary?

Nice photo of the White House. I don't understand the connection though.

Isn't that the Capitol dome? I'm unfamiliar with the geography of the buildings though...

I don't get the connection to the theme here at all. As a side note, that's the Capitol, not the White House.

Where is the transparency?

Not completely sure what you are saying here. Are you saying the white house/politicians/etc are transparent? If so, does that mean you think they are honest, or there's nothing to them so you can see straight through? I see the windows, if that is what you were focusing on, but they are such a small part of this picture, it is hard to tell. Aside from that, this is a gorgeous shot. Don't know if you meant to do it or not, but the white building between the blue sky and red flowers is great. karmat

where is the transparency?
07/05/2002 10:12:00 PM
I'm missing the transparency here
07/04/2002 03:27:00 AM
good picture but doesn't meet the challenge

Was this shot through an acetate transparency sheet, for softness? If so, very unique interpretation. If not, i'm missing the transparency element here.
Either way, I'd like this more with some Levels adjustments to brighten the walls and sky.

I'm sure everyone is asking the obvious question..... But it's a lovely picture in it's own right.

Where is the transparency?
07/03/2002 04:40:00 PM
ummm thats not the white house..thats the capitol...good pic though.
07/03/2002 03:18:00 PM
Ummm, Nice shot. But unless this is a political statement about the transparent agenda of the current resident, then I think it missed the challenge by a mile. Of course your camera probably has a lens, which is trabsparent. Hmmm, I'll give this some thought and might raise the vote...

That building holds the most obfuscated, dense, ocluded systems around.
07/03/2002 12:08:00 PM
nice picture
but where is the trasperency?
07/03/2002 11:53:00 AM
I'm really trying, but I just don't get it.
07/03/2002 02:01:00 AM
Hmmm... OK, Ill give you transparent, or at least semi......Distortion, yes. most of the issues that leave here are distorted. quality - good, I like it... but good luck with the masses... you've gone out on a limb with this one. 6

Where is the transparent part? Other than that, its an awesome photo. I give it an 8

I must be missing something, a joke, the transparency part of this challenge, my leg (being pulled), what do you think? A very nice shot of the white house.
If I could comment, but not vote, I would for this one. Photo 9 Transparency -1 total score 5 swash
07/02/2002 11:54:00 AM
i'm missing the transparent connection
07/02/2002 10:31:00 AM
Ok, but why? First, it's not the White House - it doesn't have a dome. Otherwise, what does this have to do with trasparancy?
07/02/2002 10:05:00 AM
yea.. good point. Nice shot, just a little crooked though, but hey so are they. ;)
07/01/2002 11:23:00 PM
Nice picture but I don't see any connection to the theme transparency.
07/01/2002 09:41:00 PM
nice interpetation of transparency, but sometimes this building doesn't seem all that transparent......but isn't this a shot of the capital building...The White House does not have a dome on top.
07/01/2002 09:08:00 PM
well, you're right.
07/01/2002 07:58:00 PM
nice photo. doesn't meet the challenge.
07/01/2002 06:29:00 PM
Where is the transparancy? Inside the white house perhaps, that's a new one!
07/01/2002 06:20:00 PM
Super shot. Wish politics was MORE transparent myself.
07/01/2002 06:08:00 PM
Funny play on words...
07/01/2002 02:59:00 PM
does this meet the challenge?
07/01/2002 01:51:00 PM
..or the Capital building? The only transparency that I can make out is what looks to be fog near the bottom
07/01/2002 01:43:00 PM
I do not understand the relationship to the challenge.
07/01/2002 01:10:00 PM
Isn't this the Capital Building---Congress.
07/01/2002 01:05:00 PM
nice... : ) but not 4 the challenge...
07/01/2002 12:20:00 PM
Lovely photo but very loose on the challenge topic. "5" Dogman
07/01/2002 10:27:00 AM
Not exactly transparent, literally and theorhetically (Is that the correct word?)
07/01/2002 07:45:00 AM
Nice photo of the White House, but where is the transparency?
07/01/2002 01:32:00 AM
LOL! That is great :)
07/01/2002 01:21:00 AM
politicians are transparent?? LOL..
07/01/2002 12:13:00 AM
Nice shot but VERY weak on the transparent theme... = 3 - jmsetzler
