I took this at school the other day. This kid was playing basketball and I asked him if I could take some pics. He said sure.

I really like this man....would make an awesome shot for a magazine add or something. I like how the left side is black and the right side is white...it works for me. Keep up the good work!

NIce going. Action is tough to stop and you did a good job. I've seen some basketball pictures really work when sitting or squating or laying down behind the basket a little bit. It gives the impression that the basketball player is jumping much higher than he really is. This can be fun too. Nice going.

Cheers,

Nice shot with the lens your using. A fast 2.8 or more really helps. One thing about sports, you want an angle where you can get the players face, to get some emotion. This would had been even better, if you where back along the base line under the basket. Nice tight crops are good too. Nice job.

As long as you had permission, it might be helpful to move around the area a bit. Perhaps you could have avoided the trash can and white wall (although you treated them well) to get the player against the dark background. Also, try for low shots and close-ups. The hand & ball against the hoop could be a good shot.

Nevertheless, you did well with the shot you show here. Keep 'em coming.
