130 votes 3 and under.
That is a shame. It is also telling that there are a lot of folks on this site that don't appreciate concept in a photograph. All they want to see is "pretty."
It is a good shot, to be sure, but I'm not digging the boots. I think it would have been more mysterious sans panties with the same pose and her head turned toward the corner. |

I like the image. I think you pulled off bringing it out of the fetish and into the art zone. |

Great shot. Can't believe the low score. |

I like the image... I think it might have been the shadow that did it in. May not be some people's idea of romance, but then again people also said that about the image that came in second place. Very bold though... I could use some romance like that. |

I'll admit to a 1 for this image. It was in fact I thought like Artyste a picture not with Romance but about abuse against women, I am not in the least narrow minded as my own entry will show. I also did not do well in this challenge as the connections were not obvious to many,
In itself your image was adequate but I think you touched a few raw nerves with it. |

I'm afraid far too many people completely misunderstand any aspects of BDSM to see the love involved in it.
Loved the cold stark lighting which enhanced the feigned helplessness.
Found the pose a bit too awkward looking.
Overall a very good picture and a much underated score. |

I think this is a good shot in the wrong challenge. I didn't vote romance, but I'd be hard pressed to think this represents it in any conventional sort of way. I agree the shadow is a bit distracting, but I'm not sure how you'd get rid of it. And to think I thought you were the "eve" of the last few challenges. I knew you had a propensity for nakedness, but I guessed wrong. :) |

Interesting idea, but I'm not a fan of the shadow behind her |

One man's kidnapping and assault is another man's romance. I like it. |

I get it but I think it'll be hit pretty hard here... Nonetheless... it does illustrate very well the other side of the romance coin... to some romance isn't always just about flowers and candy is it... and those are the coolest boots in the universe :) |

I am not convinced that this is romantic. Girlgirl?? nice comp, I am concinced that this S&M. good light, nice lines, good flow, texture ok, blacks need work, whites need work, overall could be a great print |

I doubt that this will score well, but kudos for having the guts to submit it anyway. This would be a much clearer representation of the theme if the model looked more like a willing participant. The hair over her face makes her expression hard to read, but her pose looks a little more defiant than I'd expect for an entry in a romance-themed challenge.
The strongly directional light from your single flash isn't especially flattering. If you only had one light to work with, bouncing it off of something light colored would have helped to diffuse the light. I'm not sure that a shot like this should have soft light, but the sharp shadow looks a little amateurish in this context. The brick background does add to the feel of the image, but something about it just feels off. Perhaps it feels too much like a weather-sealed basement where a dungeon atmosphere seems more appropriate. |

It really doesn't indicate any degree of romance to me (except, perhaps, in some undeniably perfunctory, "artsy" way), but naked women never warrant a "1" from me. |

This is edgy, artistic and excellent work but you'll probably get killed by voters who see this as well outside the norm of "romance". I like the partially hidden face, pose, and idea. For a different audience this would do well but maybe not here. I like it though. |

Certainly controversial. It's effective with the strong lighting, good exposure and focus, and the centered subject works well for being a target of sorts. |

Interesting image and decently well done but many viewers will have trouble relating it to romance. However, tt would do great in the "bondage" challenge. ;) |

Now, that's my kind of love. And my kinda woamn ;-) Really, out of the box idea and nicely exectued. Love the lighting and post-process looks very much like the old T-max B&W film when pushed. |
