Focal length 70 mm., matrix metering in manual mode, tripod, remote control. Back-lit with a standard flash fired manually through a home-made soft-box turned into a split light.
Post processing with Photoshop: Crop, hue shift from blue to red, Levels, Curves, some cloning, Median and Dust&Scratches filters to clean up dust and artifacts, Color Balance, NeatImage, sharpening.
I wanted to do this with real wine for the Tribute challenge first (I got the idea from Lee Frost's book), but couldn't get it right. Later I tried it with a more translucent liquid than wine (Listerine mouthwash, to be specific) for the Blue challenge. When I realized that I'd have to do some spot editing to clean it up, I decided to do a bit more editing and submit it to the Free Study. |

Beautiful!!! Wonderful design & great abstract. I'd hang it on my wall. Just really stunning. Dottie |

Just beautiful. I hope the wine (probably colored water?) is as rich and clear in taste as the photo.9 |

Very nice, Love the stark red color and the almost disappearing glasses. Delightful. |

I don't know what Dionysus did, but I really like the abstract feel of this. the B&W really work with the burst of red :) |

This is amazing. It almost stops looking like a photograph and starts looking like a graphic. Flawless lighting. Excellent job. |
