I think the background steals attention from the flower. Something less vibrant would make the flower stand out more.

I am not a fan of the yellow cast, as it seems to be bleeding away details from the rose's petals.

I could have done without the yellow background; it just makes an otherwise-sensational subject, get a bit lost. I could get if you weren't going for "strong contrast," but the "yellow-on-yellow," nevertheless, was a mistake.
