This is a tough shot. I like that you are experimenting and not afraid to try some stuff. This is a real balancing act between having too much detail (and ruining the effect) and having too little (and making for a boring picture). I'd probably like to see a bit more detail or at least a bit more contrast. I'd also compose the shot with the negative space in front of the face and not behind it. I think it would be more appealing that way (even a centered composition might work). I gave it a 4 in the challenge and I think the biggest reason was there just wasn't enough to hold my interest. Keep being creative though, it's a tough thing to do, and it will come with some lumps, but it will make you a better photographer in the end.

A bit too dark to see the mood of the person.

Might be interesting. But it's just too dark to see much at all.

Wow. That is very cool and different. Very well done. I love it.

I think it has potential, but it is just too dark.

I really liked this idea, only I feel it could have been technically done better - sharper, with a better framing (the face to the right or cropped vertically); I don't like the faintly visible portion of neck

Conveys a "blue mood" well. It's a bit too dark, although it does compel the viewer to take a closer look.

I like the concept, but having a bit more of the face visible would have been helpful to me.

I like the sublety of lighting and the expression of the face. I don't think *that* much empty space in the frame is justified: I would have cropped tighter. 9

Good shot, just a little too dark.

It looks a bit out of focus
