Your explanation is interesting and the idea was creative. There might have been a title that could have helped illustrate your vision a little better (like indicating the dream/nightmare scenario). In any case, disregard the zombie scores and keep doing your own thing ;-) |

I was one of your 8s. Being completely out of focus gave it a flatness that I liked. It makes your "opening" more subtle. I have to admit I'm interested in Dr. Achoo's suggestion, though. It might ruin the illusion, but not necessarily. It would be worth trying. |

Give it up, the focus police don't care and they probably don't even read titles. As for me, the blur is not a problem but now am wondering why you'd be deadset on having this particular image being OOF. Good luck. |

I am curious as to what you were trying to accomplish with this out of focus image. I don't mean to come off as harsh, but I don't get it... and the fact that you felt the need to point it out doesn't help. |

the harsh lighting and the focusing makes it difficult to look at...but I can't stop looking at it, hmmmm |

Trouble with 'out of focus on purpose' is that you have not pushed it far enough. It simply irritates at this point. |

Still, I think it would have been better in focus... |

Why out of focus on purpose? I don't see how it helps this picture. |

Nice composition, potentially interesting lines. But something should be in focus, even if it is only part of the image. "Out of focus on purpose" won't help your score, at least from most people in my opinion. |

I'm not sure why you would have put the entire photo out of focus on purpose. The cupboard appears to be the thing you're trying suggest is broken - or are you suggesting the camera is too? |

if you have to mention that it's out of focus on purpose, it spoils the effect...the fact that it is oof spoils the shot...sorry |

I must apologise as I did not get the idea behind the shot at all - sorry! |

So if it's OOF on purpose, what are we gaining? Perhaps having a small DOF is what you were after. It would be nice to have the pipes in focus while keeping the cupboards OOF. That would direct the eye to the "opening". This way we just scan the picture looking for something in focus. |

Not sure why you wanted it to be out of focus, it doesn't add anything to the photo. |

But it's out-of-focus. I know... I know. ;) |
