"High Jump Commences" fits perfectly into the Motion Panning challenge. Not too bad of a placement or score, this was a though challenge.
I really think the most important and best aspect of your shot is the focal point being his face. You have captured so much of what makes us human by allowing the focus to be his determination. The blur is nice and shows the fast past movement. I think it the shot would have scored a little higher if there were no other people in the background, but I am sure this was a hard enough shot to take. Also I think you took a brave step with adding such a thick border but it really works for me. The only other thing I would try would be to increase the contrast some jus to make the shot brighter. Great work. |

Great shot!! The focus on his face is excellent....shows the determination and concentration, movement of his limbs adds energy. Good work with the panning! Only thing I'm not too fond of is the border which, to me, feels too heavy for the shot. |

I think including a little more of the shadow would have added to this. You did a good job with the motion pan itself. |

I really like this shot.. the crispness on the subjects face is great..... but more important is his expression.... determined. |

The look on his face is great. This is a brilliant facial study and the motion panning is right on challenge |

Nice job! His expression and his movements work together to give an air of intensity, and you captured that well. |

The color is a bit dull and the background is somewhat distracting. |

Excellent! Love the good clear expression on his face while his arms and legs are blurred in motion. Nicely done! |

This is good panning. Great subject sharpness, and shutter must have been open for a while as good limb movement adding to the drama of the approach. |

A fine example of motion panning unlike so many other images in this challenge. |

It is the concentrated expression that makes this shot so good IMO. 8. |

nice picture, caught the face well with concentration and pretty good focus. I think the border is a bit exessive, I'd prefer to see more image than black border |
