Challenge: Contrasts (Classic Editing)
Camera: Fujifilm FinePix 2800Z
Location: Bow, London
Date: Jul 17, 2003
Aperture: f/2.8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/13
Date Uploaded: Jul 17, 2003

Having had my 602Z stolen whilst in Milan, I had to resort to the 2800 for this: and quite enjoyed the additional challenge. Haven't quite been able to get the detail into it that I wanted - and I've had to work so much harder in post-processing. The set-up is awfully similar to 'You think that's air ...', in that it's the same natural light studio set-up, and it has obvious connections with that approach anyway.

Besides the idea of a real object and a photograph, I also like the contrast of surfaces, colours, and the slight illusion of three dimensions in the image of the photograph.

Great contrast message. But why did you leave the square part of the photo, blue. I think it would look better white. That would give the blue plate much more impact. And maybe use a real tomato also. Good job!

This is intresting. I do not think I could ever come to grips with the reality of using my ink in this way.
