| Swell idea. Composition of this still life is good. I don't find the lighting all that interesting. Cropping is super. |

| A 1/4 turn of the 2nd pawn on the right would have eliminated the mold line. Also a different background color so that the black pawn stands out more. Good concept. |

| Lighting! This is flash, yes? if it weren't for the faint reflections of the white pieces in the black one I doubt it would be visible at all. even a couple of table lamps will provide enough light for digital cameras, position them to the sides of the subject and turn off that flash and compare the outcome. |
