On the last day of the challenge, I took a drive up to a local museum/village of old homes called Millard's Crossing. The sun was setting and I took this shot of an old log cabin. The North wind was freezing cold, so I didn't get the info on the history of this particular house, but will go back and find out.

Very little post-processing: cropped, adjusted levels, resized for the challenge.

Take care,
Stephen

Greetings from the Critique Club

This is a nice, competent, image that certainly meets the Challenge, showing as it does, country life a century or so ago. I very much like the effort you took to capture this image at a good time of day. The soft, sunset colors, work well to bring out the textures in the wood. "The problem" as I see it, is that this is just a nice image. Now, if you had granny on the bench and a dawg on the ground, this would be country living as it is stereotypically perceived in the urban world. Of course the last sentence was a joke, but what I'm saying is a little life, or color, would make this image sparkle.

I wish you continued success in your DPC Challenge entries. You have a good eye!

Alice

wider view to see what the landscape would have been nice, my eyes keep trying to look past the cabin and look for more surroundings

Would have been better if the right side of the cabin was not cropped off.

Cool cabin! The colors seem slightly off.. also take time to edit the phone wires in the background.

The colours here seem a little overcooked.

This one really needs some contrast or something to fix what brightening did. Also, the subject is too crowded in the frame. A wonderful building though, it really has potential.
