The shadow nearly obliterates the right edge of the book - a bit of lighting on that side would enhance the picture.

I like the simplicity of your composition. For me, I sometimes find that three elements work better than two. The eyes tend to look at images in a triangular manner - usually starting at the upper left, then down towards the middle or bottom, and then back up to the right. Fits the challenge nicely.

The candlelight is overexposed and Bible has a harsh shadow. Otherwise the idea is nice, try some other compositions, angles to enhance the interest for your photo.

your carpet is funny looking. :)
interesting idea, but the shadows on the bible are a bit dark, and the carpet pattern is distracting
