Greetings from the Critique Club
Please take my critiques as a constructive criticism and as I always say, take it with a grain of salt. Now on to the show shall we?
The image in itself lacks the "punch" that most DPCers are looking for in all our challenges. The almost "snapshot" feel of this image further added to the short comings of this image.
The crop is a bit awkward to the left of the frame. his shoulder is literally cut off the frame so it tends to look like a quick snap shot rather than a well composed image. Most DPCers including myself will just give this a 4 and move on.
Light and detail is the key to make your audience stop and let the image sink in. As always, these are just my personal opinions on this image. We are all out here to learn ;)
I have seen your portfolio and there is promise of definitely breaking out of the 4 slump. Your motion panning shot is quite warm and wonderful. Keep on shooting and continue to learn from the folks in our group!
Cheers,
Rikki

There's a snapshot quality to this even though the composition is good. Cropped too tight both top and bottom I think - we need to see the little boat the guy is on to truly understand the envy emotion towards the bigger boat. |

What state was this picture taken??? It doesn't look like this is a recent photo seeing as it is obviously warm weather. Either way I give it a 4 because it's not that great anyhow. |
