Actually, he didn't fly away with the carp... he went to a little island in the lagoon and ate it there... my research shows that they usually tear it into pieces. This guy didn't.. he ate it in one very long swallow with the head first. |

That must've been great watching him eat this thing whole. I would guess that he must have had a hard time getting airborne after eating this huge fish? Great capture! |

It's amazing to think that a bird with a throat that narrow can swallow something that size! This is a great shot. |

wow great pic, the fish is a common carp i fish for carp they are verry strong fighting fish, so it just shows how skillful the heron is. |

Holy cow, what an awesome catch - both the bird and the photo!!!
Darn shame that the focus is a little off, wouldn't it be nice if they held still long enough to get it right? |

I watched him eat it and it was amazing... I got a few shots but they were not all that crisp |
