I took this after all good suggestions and ideas were exhausted and I had a good copy of one of Connie's pics (the eggs). I figured eggs may be done, mine was solid but nothing special, so I'd keep trying.

I shot:

1. Piano keys.
2. Tomato on black, then white bg.
3. Pencils and pens.
4. Chess pieces.
5. Road stripes.
6. Eggs.
7. Coins.

So next time you think you've worked on a challenge, remember - sometimes you just NEVER get a good idea. No no, that's not it...remember, patience!

"Just a pen" - really wonder about that comment. I thought we were going for good looking pics that had contrast...next time I'll just find an old person and fit in the challenge somehow. Seems that old people do well here.

Oh my other shots? I kept them, but they are just eggs, just coins, just a tomato and just a piano.

And if whoever gave me a 1 would be so kind as to PM me, I'd love to know what was so terrible about this shot that you likely graded it over 99% of the entries in the challenge.

damn Mav, you have just about the perfect score breakdown. I gave you a 6 on this and thought it was very well done. Still, it's a just a pen, so that may have hurt you a bit. What did you do with all the photos from your previous 7 subjects?

Simple and well done. Meets the challenge for sure, and last but not least, I like it :-)

Like the simplicity, not to sure about the frame though. May be worth considering rotating the pen slightly so it points more towards the viewer.

A nice crisp, clear shot that would've benefited by showing the sword. The title saves your photograph from not meeting the challenge.

Almost too white...neat idea but isn't the end of the pen a bit out of focus? The rest is crisp and adds greatly to the image. Thanks
