If you request a critique from the critique club, you should always fill out your 'Photographer's Comments' field when you submit your photo. When you don't include your own thoughts on the image, you can't really expect someone else to give their time and effort to give you a critique. It makes me think that you don't care enough about your own photo to take the time to post your thoughts on it...
This photo meets the challenge, but it doesn't really have much to say to me beyond that. I can't really find your purpose or meaning in the image. It's a decent simple study in shallow depth of field, but subjectively, it doesn't hold my attention very long. |
What a loser! and clearly a hick, mind you he has a few really good shots, but he also has expensive lenses so at least he knows how to use them. I hate people like that that are rude there are lots of people that don't put comments on their posted photos. What an asshole. I like the contrast of the photo.

I believe this is what they drew the filter name "Dry Brush" in Photoshop from... |

simple but striking in the contrast with the black surface |

If there was a stripe of paint following the brush it would have been really good. As it is, there is nothing of interest in the shot. 5 |

This image will unfortunately score low IMHO. There really isn`t anything to hold my attention. Please don`t consider this an attack to your image but as an encouragement to try to photograph something that would make your viewer look at your image for more than 3 seconds. |

I wonder if a paint trail would have added to the photo? |

simple but well done..the reflection of the bristles in the fresh paint is a fine detail |

not sure if the reflection is there on purpose, but not a big fan of it |

I think there is too much lint or dst on the surface. I wiped my own screen off, and this helped. I think the composition is strong. Just needs to be cleaned up a bit - and a bit more DOF might look better. |
