"Life Without a Chance" is a very good idea. I looked at your comments to see this was your first submission, which is itself is a huge accomplishment. In my opinion, it really does get easier. The more you are forced to think about a challenge and what you could possible come up with and then capture it you will see yourself grow.

The concept is really good. Technically there are a few things I would change or experiment with. I think since we are looking at the Odd Couple maybe the snow and one flower. I understand your subject based on your title is not specifically flower and snow but I think single the image down would create a greater focus. The second thing I would work on is the lighting. I would guess you used the flash, you might try to incorporate other lights. Even an extra light here and there will help the balance and prevent bright objects like sky, snow, sun and more from been blown out. Since the snow is blown out almost at the center of the image it really takes away from the impact of your great subject. We even lose the key petal that is touching the snow. I think you had a tough shot to capture but a great idea.

I would defiantly keep submitting, you have some great ideas and great potential. Best of luck!

Satisfies the theme. A difficult shot to get with flash photography.

Interesting idea. Flowers and snow. I wish you went with a single flower as the others make the image look cluttered. the falloff lighting is very interesting too and they block it. if there was a way to tone down the flash, this would have been a good shot to figure it out on.

not sure how this fits the challenge

The white in the middle is really harsh. Maybe a bounce-back from a flash? Try diffusing the flash some.

Where is the odd couple in this? The flower and the snow? Nah... that can't be a couple... Sorry, I don't get it.
The blown out area in the middle of the photo is hard to look at.

The image is unfortunately too small and I don't see how this makes for an Odd Couple. You can PM me if you prefer to explain this just a bit ;) Cheers!
