Amazing entry. It almost looks fake. This bird and that bush rock! 10.

Interesting looking bird but the whites are just a bit too bright.

Nice composition. I like the little hint of blue sky by the birds head,

very sharp image - nice colors

Could this be a LG composition perhaps? Excellent photograph, and nicely edited (possibly a bit too much sharpening). At least a top 10 finisher I think

I don't know what that is, but it's beautiful. Very nice framing and composition for this challenge. Interesting shot. 9

Great contract...........love the thorns. That's not a bird you see everyday!

what a cool looking bird! :)

Good contrast of the prickly bush and the bird - well balanced.

Great details but the whole image feels too processed for my taste.

Nice hornbill

A strange, almost painterly feel to the colour definition around that beak and head. - presumably because that's where all the colour is in this shot. An interesting effect. Well handled in the square crop, too. Nice work indeed,

Where's you find a bird like that, Rikki? I've never seen such a one. ;-)

Wow - that is simply awesome- the pointy beak and thorns bring this together for me -but 14% of my brain keeps telling me the bird is fake. Regardless, the composition and art here is beautiful and intriguing. 8

This would be on the cover of a scary novel. It is excellent. 9
