The title, of course, comes from Shakespeare's Macbeth:
"To-morrow, and to-morrow, and to-morrow,
Creeps in this petty pace from day to day,
To the last syllable of recorded time;
And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow; a poor player,

I don't believe in an afterlife, so I figured the image of a candle in the dark being blown out would best capture that thought.
I tried to find a red tapered candle because I thought it would better capture the vibrancy of life, but all I could find were either white tapered candles or a large red scented candle. My apartment smells like cranberry right now...
... and then I changed my mind in the last hour and went out and bought the white tapered candle and shot and edited everything in 25 minutes. |
