This is a photograph of my brother\\\'s new book; his wife\\\'s compilation of the letters he sent home from Iraq. This is my first challenge and I understand that this will not recieve a high score. I chose this because all of his letter\\\'s home sent me on a literary adventure into the daily struggles of a soldier. I also jumped at the chance to advertise his book. Thank you for your comments.

Colour balance needs fixing - that woarm tone has made the blue black, amd the red indistinct. Not sure it really meets challenge, actually, but I could understand the confusion.

The addition of a letter would have helped this composition, and perhaps placing the book more at an angle - it seems so straight and arranged.

Very emotive photo. I am not sure about the value of the candles in the foreground. I understand the symbolism but I don't like the way they are photographed. A creative photo all the same.

I would have loved to see an actual letter and more ambient light.
