 This is my setup for my entry in the Afterlife challenge. A paper cutout of a family is taped to one end of an aluminum tube. The camera is looking into the other end of the tube. A piece of white paper is the background of the "family". Lighting is an ordinary desk lamp bounced off of the white paper background.
Luckily, the inside of the tube had an almost mirror-like finish that reflected the silhouettes of the people in a really interesting way.

Interesting you used a cut out. I used a cut out for my "1980's Challenge" entry. Sort of the same technique, right down to the desk lamp for lighting. :) Creative minds think alike? :)

simply great. mine tube concept is very very close as your idea ... i suggest you take a look, funny thing we had very similar concepts and setups, unfortunatelly i havent photographed my setup but the tube was from cardboard from roll of aluminium foil, and the "dude" was a small football player from my kids taped to the end of the table :-)
