::: Critique Club :::

Hi, my name is Kari and from the critique club.

First Impression - the most important one:
Interesting incorporation of the feather with the heels ... well done.

Composition:
This is not bad. The problem areas have already been raised and this is the grate behind the subject and the flooring. Both of which are distracting elements.

Subject:
Meets the challenge.

Technical (Colour and light):
Goof lighting ... reasonable colour and good focus. With a change of background you could have played more with colour I think.

To grow its vote?:
Think about where you are shooting. I have find it extremely important to not have a busy background or base (floor) for the picture unless it is intentional.

Summary:
Good pic .. well done for this challenge. And so far away from what you have been shooting .... never be afraid of trying new things.

If you've got any questions about this critique, please feel free to contact me via the PM system.

Cheers

Kari

Nice composition, pose, lines and curves of legs. Plainer or more obscure background would be better, DOF to include heels would be better.

The background here is what will bring this picture down. The image & idea are great - taking time to photograph the subject against a white background would have added alot to this image. 6.

I find the floor and the grate extremely disassociated from the overall image. A solid white backdrop would have really showcased the black shoes and the vibrancy of the feather.

Colors are too flat - not enough contrast or brightness. One idea that you may have tried was desaturating everything but the peacock feather.

It looks like it is tickling her fancy ;-)
The air vent in the background spoils the shot.

Lovely colors in the feathers. The bricks and the vent take away from the subject though.
