Hi from the critique club Tom.
The two problems that immediately strike me you've addressed already in your comments, so i think I'll say nothing about the angle and the glares. Not really sure that it is so very over-exposed though: I like that I can still see detail in the shaded areas - it keeps the level of business throughout the shot more consistent.
I'm intrigued as to why almost all your shots are b/w though. I'd have thought that the colour range in this shot would be really interesting - reds, browns, pinks and they'd help differentiate all the different items a little.
Good work though: I've been taking shots a little like this myself, of shop fronts and the like around here in London, precisely because of this kind of look. As to the score: given those issues with the angle, I think you scored reasonably - for so many voters 5 is an average vote, and to score above that is OK.

Thanks.. I've been planning on reshooting this from straight on- and not so blinding. It was sort of shot from the hip... then when I liked it, I thought I should do it a bit better. I thought I would throw it into the comp as is, but I didn't think it would take the beating that it did. I'll redo it for me. I still love it. If nothing else, it will go well in the kitchen. |

Oh! Neat idea. But what about an even tighter shot filling the frame of just the hanging meat or the meats in the cooler. . .especially on the left! The black and white shot would have provided a variety of contrasts and interesting shapes. To my way of seeing it right now, it is too busy. BOL |

Havin the person in the image is a good touch. Tones are good representing a wide range. Very difficult to see much with all the detail - wish I could see a big image. |

Ah, I love these delicatessen shops and can never go past one without buying some cheese of salami or something like that. I like the composition you've chosen, I am just not too sure if the B&W does this justice. These shops are so colorful with all their different products that I would have prefered to see it left in color. |

This shot has great potential. Unfortunately, I am distracted by the fluorescent light at the top and some of the blown-out hilights. |

So much meat, looks good. Nice subject, the B+W looks great here, though a bit bright in patches. |

This photo is a little busy for my taste. I would have liked it better if you had focused on one section of meat, or the jars on the shelves. I also would've cropped the bottom of the photo. |
